Symbols For Verbs
The following verb symbols are available on request to use free of charge for non-commercial purposes. They are high quality .png graphics with transparent backgrounds. The symbols are copyright TalkSense and may NOT be:
Linked from the symbols below are in excess of 1,200 symbols for verb forms arranged in alphabetical page order. In some cases alternate forms of the same word are offered such that you might choose which you would prefer. While over 1,200 images may sound a lot it does not begin to scratch the surface of the number of verbs that exist in the English language. However, Talksense believes that the 'core' verbs are represented (those that we use most often in everyday speech) together with a significant number of 'fringe' verbs (those used less often or for specific language purposes). Many nouns can become verbs depending on their usage, for example:
arch (the bridge arched over the river);
ball (to ball your fist);
chair (to chair a meeting);
dog (to be dogged by ill heath).
These verb forms are not included in the verb listing but can be found under the appropriate noun categories as nouns and used as verbs if required.
Any or all of the verbs are available free of charge for non-commercial purposes (see rules for usage above). Please use the form at the bottom of this page top request the verb symbols that you require. If there is a required verb absent from those depicted below then you may also request that verb using the form at the bottom of this page.
