Tony suffered a major stroke in 2020 resulting in a left hemiplegia with additional complications. Because of this, Tony has been forced to suspend some of the services that he used to provide. This website will continue.
Tony is presently virtually Bed-Bound. This site now having to be created by working from a hospital-style bed. Tony uses an on-screen keyboard picking out letters one by one. The large TV screen at the bottom of his bed is linked to a computer acting as a monitor which is accessed via a wireless trackball.

Tony is a well-qualified, Independent Teacher with over forty years of successful experience in Special Schools and Colleges providing support and tuition for young people wishing to develop their augmentative communication and cognitive skills.
Tony has worked with children and adults at all levels of ability from PMLD to degree level and delivered training on a wide variety of subjects to professionals and non-professionals alike in many countries across the world from America to Taiwan.
Tony has been directly responsible for winning major awards for the establishments where he previously worked including the National Training Agency Award for Innovation (outright winner) and the Makaton Centre of Excellence award for his work on teaching sign and symbol.
Tony has authored a number of Augmentative Communication Programs including Language, Learning and Living, Discovery, M-Power and ViP. He also wrote the IMPact training manual and has developed a symbol set of over 40,000 symbols (the symbols used in this web site are his work). Examples of symbols below
