Training Courses: Terms and Conditions
The terms and conditions for all training courses are detailed below.
There are two types of training courses:
OPEN A course which anyone may attend offered at various venues around
the country.
CLOSED Private courses booked by a school or college or other to provide
staff training.

Open Courses: Terms and Conditions
Open courses are courses that may be attended by any person (parent, carent, teacher, therapist, professional, non-professional, ...). They will be offered at various times and locations around the UK during the year.

Course Fees: Open Training Courses are offered at £99 per person per day. Discounts for multiple bookings for the same course from the same establishment are negotiable on request. Payment is due in advance of the course and may be made by cheque to Mr A Jones. Alternatively, an invoice will be sent to the purchasing body. on receipt of an order for the course.
Please note: A 25% levy will be made for any fees due that are delayed past the course date and for every additional thirty (30) day period thereafter (compound).
Booking: When booking course using own booking form please state clearly:
- Names/number of person(s) attending;
- Contact Details for each person attending (address, contact telephone, e-mail);
- Contact Details for person booking course;
- Course Reference Number;
- Course Venue and Course Date

Cancellation: A refund of course fees already paid will be given to any person/establishment who wishes to cancel attendance at a course providing notice is given at least thirty (30) days prior to the course date. TalkSense regrets that it will not be able to refund fees paid for cancellations or non-attendance or any other reason after this time as it has to cover pre-course costs.
Course Cancellation by Talksense: TalkSense will endeavour to do everything within its powers to ensure that all courses run as advertised, TalkSense reserves the right to cancel any (advertised) course with 24 hours notice by e-mail or phone to participants in the event of: illness of presenter, lack of sufficient interest in course, problem with the venue, act of God, or for any other reason. In such circumstances, TalkSense will offer an alternative time and venue for the course or a participant may elect to have a full refund of course fees.
Non-attendance: No refund of course fees will be given for course participants who fail to atttend the course for any reason. However, such people may be given free attendence at another TalkSense course at TalkSense's discretion. Please remember that such a course may be anywhere in the UK.
Refund of fees: refunds of fees are available only in one of the following circumstances:
- cancellation of course by participant giving at least thirty (30) days notification before course date;
- cancellation of course by TalkSense
Please note: Refunds of fees or partial refund of fees will not be given for any other reason or in any other circumstance.

Closed Courses: Terms and Conditions
Closed courses are courses that are booked by establishments wishing to provide training for their staff at a specific venue and date of their choosing. Details of the courses offered can be found by following the links from the Training Page.
Please read the following terms and conditions carefully. It is agreed that these terms and conditions will apply if you book a TalkSense course.
Course Fees: Closed Training Courses are offered at £599 per day plus travel, meals and accommodation and any additional expenses. Copies of receipts for any additional expenses can be provided on request. Payment for courses is strictly thirty days (30) from invoice date Delays in payment will incur penalties.
Please note: A 25% levy will be made for any fees due that are delayed past the invoice payment due date and for every additional thirty (30) day period thereafter (compound).
Booking: When booking course using own booking form please state clearly:
- Course(s) required;
- Date required;
- Venue;
- Contact Details for person booking course;
- Contact details for person overseeing the course (if different from above);
- Approximate number of people attending

Travel: Travel is charged at 40ppm (pence per mile)
Accomodation: TalkSense will arrange its own accommodation at a local Premier Travel Inn or similar if an overnight stay is necessary
Meals: If overnight accommodation is necessary because of distances involved TalkSense will also make an expenses charge for:
- An evening meal on the night before the course;
- Breakfast on the day of the course;
- A midday meal during the course if not provided by venue.
TalkSense is not responsible for the provision of refreshments and or meals to course participants.
Additional Expenses: Any additional expense will be invoiced (road tolls, parking fees, etc).
Host/venue: The host/venue/ booking establishment is responsible for:
- Suitable room, chairs and necessary furnishing to host training;
- Safety of all attending the training;
- Refreshments and any meals during the training;
- Provision of water and glass for presenter during training;
- Provision of computer projection system and screen;
- Sound system (microphone for speaker as necessary), external speakers for computer;
- Provision of sufficient access and set-up time for necessary equipment prior to start of training.
This may be on the morning of the course or on the afternoon prior to the course by mutual agreement.
Some courses require more set up time than others. This will be agreed by mutual consent at booking.
- Reproduction of master copy of training hand out (one copy for each attendee). Master hand-out will be sent by post to
course contact prior to the course date.
- Provision of sufficient tables to display equipment (this will depend on the course booked);
- Provision of any additional necessary additional equipment specified at the time of booking by agreement.
- Provision of appropriate parking space at host venue for the period of the set up and the training.
Please note that the TalkSense presenter Tony Jones is a vegan if a midday meal is being provided.
Cancellation: Booking establishment may cancel a pre-booked course providing notice is given at least thirty (30) days prior to the course date. The booking establishment agrees that it will make payment IN FULL for a course cancellation after such time.
Course Cancellation by Talksense: TalkSense will endeavour to do everything within its powers to ensure that all courses run as booked, TalkSense reserves the right to cancel any course with 24 hours notice by e-mail or phone in the event of: illness of presenter, death in family, accident, loss or damage to necessary equipment, inability to travel to venue by caused by snow, flood, or other adverse weather conditon. In such circumstances, TalkSense will offer an alternative time for the course if possible.
It is agreed that TalkSense will not incur any penalty what so ever in the event of non attendance by TalkSense for any reason at a pre-booked training.
No charge will be made if TalkSense cannot attend a pre-booked training.
